“Filigree lines” is a Little Treasure of mine that expresses how vulnerable I feel today.
Surrounded by the overwhelming noise of the world, I set myself down in a quiet space, turning to the canvas to anchor my spirit so I don't lose myself to the chaos.
Each point and line is a place where I stand witness to the fleeting thoughts around me.
From every plane imaginable, my mind leaps and seeks out some meaningful pattern in the air and the world.
Yet I keep coming back to what truly matters—my family, my passion for painting, and my deep connection to trees and nature. They are my earth, providing the rich, steady foundation that grounds me and allows me to scatter the fluff into the sky.
All I know is that with my roots held firm in nature and love, I can explore this vulnerability through my art, finding stillness and beauty even amid the noise.

As a semi-abstract painter, my creative practice is deeply rooted in a lifelong fascination with nature and environmental resilience. For me, art operates as a quiet but deliberate form of advocacy—a way to encourage others to appreciate and protect the preciousness of our natural world.
"Life Raft" explores the concept of survival amid ongoing environmental shifts. In an era where global biodiversity faces unprecedented pressures, ecosystems are constantly forced to adapt, finding their own metaphorical life rafts to sustain life. Through a fluid colour palette of blues and grounding charcoal tones, this piece balances vulnerability with a stubborn, quiet strength. It serves as a small visual reminder of the vital, interconnected networks we must work to protect.

This abstract artwork captures a vibrant and textured glimpse into a submerged environment. "Life underwater” utilizes a rich palette of deep blues and oranges to represent a mysterious aquatic world. Fine details, such as delicate white specks and red dotted lines, suggest the presence of bubbling air or tiny organisms drifting through the current. Various expressive brushstrokes and layers create a sense of depth, mimicking the movement of sea flora against a dark seabed. The artist employs a non-literal style to evoke the tranquility and complexity of the ocean depths. The viewer is invited to imagine the hidden beauty found beneath the water's surface.

I’m so pleased to share a new piece from my "Little Treasure" collection. This painting, a vibrant mix of watercolour and acrylic, is my latest exploration of a subject that has fascinated me since I was a young girl: the humble yet extraordinary mushroom.
There is something inherently magical about fungi. They are the quiet architects of the forest, appearing almost overnight in a burst of unexpected colour and form. For this piece, I wanted to move away from a literal representation and instead capture that sense of whimsical energy. By layering delicate watercolour washes with bold acrylic dots and energetic lines, I’ve tried to mimic the intricate textures and "hidden" life that mushrooms represent.
A Global Fascination
Beyond their mysterious appearance, mushrooms hold a special place in human history. They aren't just organisms; they are cultural icons. Across the globe, various cultures have a deep-seated reverence for this amazing fungi:
Culinary Traditions: From the prized truffles of France to the rich, earthy flavour of shiitakes in East Asia, mushrooms are celebrated as a gourmet delicacy that brings the essence of the earth to the table.
Spiritual and Symbolic Roots: In many cultures, mushrooms are symbols of longevity, resilience, and even rebirth. They bridge the gap between the decaying forest floor and new growth, acting as nature's ultimate recyclers.
Folkloric Wonder: For many of us, our first introduction to mushrooms was through fairy tales—tiny umbrellas for woodland creatures or mysterious circles in the grass.
In this "Little Treasure," the bright pinks, deep purples, and pops of red are a nod to that folkloric charm. It’s an honest celebration of the small wonders we often walk right past. I hope this painting reminds you to look a little closer the next time you’re out in nature; you never know what kind of magic might be sprouting right at your feet.

There is a tension here—the raw, deckled edge of the paper versus the refined composition. It feels like a hidden geography, where deep sienna hills meet a striking charcoal form. Is it a lone tree, a distant figure, or a pillar of history? I particularly enjoyed the playful texture of the white and red dots scattered like confetti or a hidden path across the landscape.
It feels like a moment of discovery, where wild elements are tamed just enough to create a safe harbour. It is a little talisman for finding stillness in the noise.
But abstract art is always a personal mirror. When you look at 'Katie Treasure', what kind of journey or hidden narrative comes to mind for you?
This semi-abstract piece from my Little Treasures series offers a whimsical exploration of nature through a delicate balance of colour, texture, and organic form. It is an intimate mixed-media work that captures the quiet joy of a garden corner, relying on expressive textures and intuitive mark-making to engage the viewer.

For generations, anyone who stepped beneath its dappled canopy left their heavy thoughts at the edge of the tree line, welcomed by a vibrant carpet of moss and wild berries that danced under the sun.
As the world outside grew busier, the colorful sanctuary remained an untouched haven. People came to walk its winding paths to find comfort, returning with a light, unexplainable warmth in their chests—a timeless reminder that peace and happiness would always find a way to grow.
