The Women’s Art Society of Montreal
The Women’s Art Society of Montreal: A Legacy of Love
Founded in 1894, the Women’s Art Society of Montreal (WASM) was established to integrate women into the art world during an era when they held few rights. Over its 132-year history, the society has evolved into an inclusive community that now invites both men and women to expand their artistic knowledge and practice.
This enduring spirit is on full display at the current L'AMOUR exhibition, held at the historic Conseil des arts de Montréal building throughout the month of May. The show features 76 diverse artworks exploring the theme of love and serves as a welcoming destination for families.
A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Montreal Children's Hospital to support paediatric mental health services.
My painting Thistle Fluff, won the "Best of Theme" at the annual Women's Art Society of Montreal Juried Art Show, May 2024 at Viva Vida Art Gallery in Pointe-Claire, QC. "Rejuvenation" is an important theme in my work.

The Montreal Children’s Hospital Mural Mosaic
Unveiled August 6, 2024
The mural, Precious Bonds, is the first major installation of The Children’s Foundation’s Healing Arts Project, which aims to transform the hospital environment with innovative, kid-friendly art projects designed to uplift and inspire children and families. The pieces will capture the province's rural and urban character and reflect the scope of creative talent in Montreal and Quebec.e.
My painting is called "Rabbit Friend", tile 130 in the upper right hand edge of the huge mosaic, called Precious Bonds.
This Montreal landmark was made possible thanks to the generous donation of Claude Bigras and Andrée Lafleur.
